2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 large egg
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2 tbsp maple syrup (for glaze)
Splash of milk (for glaze)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Mix in the maple syrup and egg. Beat until combined, then add the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, folding until just mixed.
Chill the dough for about 30 minutes.
Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown but the centers appear soft.
While the cookies cool, whisk together the powdered sugar with maple syrup and a splash of milk.
Once the cookies are cooled, drizzle the brown sugar glaze over the top of each cookie.
