Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Twists

A fun and easy dessert that combines the classic flavors of chocolate chip cookies with a flaky pastry exterior.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon of chopped nuts (like pecans or almonds)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lay the puff pastry flat on a floured surface.
  3. In a bowl, combine the chocolate chips, brown sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until it resembles cookie dough.
  4. Cut the pastry into rectangles large enough to hold a spoonful of cookie dough.
  5. Spoon the cookie dough down the center of each rectangle, leaving some space on the edges for folding.
  6. Make diagonal cuts along the sides of the pastry to create strips.
  7. Fold the strips alternately over the filling to create twists.
  8. Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
