Gyro Meatballs

A delightful twist on the classic Greek gyro, these Gyro Meatballs are juicy, flavorful, and packed with fresh herbs, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

  • 1 pound ground lamb or beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the ground lamb or beef with the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, minced garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Transfer the browned meatballs to a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until cooked through (160°F internal temperature).
  7. Serve warm with tzatziki sauce and pita bread, if desired.

Notes

For a leaner option, consider using ground turkey or chicken. Feel free to customize the spices according to your taste.
