Sesame Chicken and Lo Mein

A delicious and versatile dish combining crispy chicken, tender lo mein noodles, and vibrant vegetables in a flavorful sesame sauce.

  • 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
  • 4 oz lo mein noodles
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, carrots, snow peas)
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the mixed vegetables and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still vibrant.
  4. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Pour this sauce over the chicken and vegetables and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Add the cooked lo mein noodles to the pan and toss to coat everything evenly.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

This dish can be prepped ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, making it a great option for meal prep.
