- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 10-cup bundt pan
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined
- Add eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth
- Carefully pour in boiling water and mix on low speed until just combined
- Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out with just a few moist crumbs
- Allow cake to cool completely in pan before inverting onto serving plate
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better emulsion and more even baking. Don't overmix after adding the water - a few gentle stirs are all you need. The cake tastes better the next day as flavors meld.
