Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 550°F or the highest temperature your oven can go.
- Dust the pizza dough with flour and stretch into a 14-inch circle with a 1-inch crust slightly thicker. Place dough on parchment paper on a pizza peel if using a pizza steel/stone, or dust a baking sheet with flour/cornmeal for direct baking.
- Spread marinara sauce on the pizza, leaving 1 inch around the sides for the crust.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and arrange pepperoni slices on top.
- Mix ricotta cheese with fresh basil and dollop teaspoons full evenly across the pizza.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned and crust is golden. Remove parchment paper after 2 minutes if using pizza steel/stone, and rotate pizza halfway through baking.
- Garnish with fresh basil and drizzle generously with hot honey.
Notes
Use whole milk mozzarella and ricotta for better flavor. Make hot honey by infusing honey with chili peppers. The pizza tastes best when hot honey is drizzled after baking rather than before. Allow pizza to rest for a minute before slicing.
