Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a large bowl, toss the trimmed green beans with olive oil until evenly coated. Make sure each bean gets a light coating of oil - this is essential for achieving that perfect crispiness.
- Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Toss again to distribute the seasonings evenly throughout the green beans.
- Spread the seasoned green beans in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding - this ensures they roast rather than steam.
- Roast for 15-20 minutes, or until the green beans are tender with crispy, slightly browned edges. Halfway through cooking, give the pan a shake or use tongs to toss the beans for even browning.
- Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. The residual heat will melt the cheese beautifully. For extra flavor, drizzle with fresh lemon juice if desired.
- Serve immediately while hot and crispy. These green beans pair wonderfully with one-pan skillet dinners or as part of a larger holiday meal spread.
Notes
Choose fresh beans for best results, don't overcrowd the baking sheet, and add garlic at the beginning or last 5 minutes depending on desired garlic intensity. Use two baking sheets if needed to prevent steaming.
