- Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente, drain well and rinse with cold water, then transfer to a large mixing bowl
- While pasta cooks, prepare vegetables - halve cherry tomatoes, finely dice red onion, chop basil and parsley, slice olives
- Make the dressing by whisking together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes
- Combine pasta, vegetables, mozzarella pearls, capers, and dressing, toss together until well coated
- Let the salad marinate for at least 30 minutes before serving, garnish with additional basil leaves
Notes
Use ripe, in-season tomatoes for best flavor. Salad gets better as it sits - prepare up to a day in advance. Add grilled chicken or chickpeas for extra protein.
